Plans have been approved for 142 solar panels on the roof of the Spire Bushey Hospital.
for the Spire Bushey Hospital on April 24, which would see photovoltaic cells cover almost the entire flat area of the two-storey main block’s roof.
It decided that the hospital did not need to seek prior approval for the works as it complied with Town and Country Planning regulations.The panels would be raised 23cm off the roof at their highest point and angled to face the sun, with a maximum output of 59.64 kilowatt peaks. The Bushey Spire Hospital is a private facility which offers 80 patient bedrooms, and is run by the Spire Healthcare Group, one of the largest private healthcare providers in the UK.
