Supplemental Security Income recipients will be given the second of two payments this month on Dec. 30, with both checks equaling a combined total of $1,755.
Recipients of SSI will receive a payment of $914 on Dec. 30. The payment at the end of the month will be slightly bigger than the first SSI payment of $841 that recipients were given on Dec. 1 in response to increasing inflation, according to the Social Security Administration.Eligible couples and essential persons, meaning those who live with a person receiving Supplemental Security Income and provide necessary care, will also be given a second payment this month.
SSI recipients are receiving two payments this month due to the first day of next month, January, falling on a national holiday, New Year's Day. The SSA issues checks every month on the business day prior to months that begin on a weekend or holiday to make sure beneficiaries have the check by the first of the month, according to the agency.

These months include April, June, September, and December.The second December payments are slightly higher than the payment earlier this month thanks to the yearly cost-of-living adjustments made to them.
