Select Social Security beneficiaries are set to get their regular monthly check on Wednesday, with the checks worth an average of $1,546 per payment.
Social Security recipients who were born from the first through the 10th of their birth month will receive their regular payments Wednesday, according to the Social Security Administration.
Those who have birth dates after the 10th will receive their checks later in the month, with those born from the 11th through the 20th receiving their monthly payment on Oct. 19 and those born from the 21st through the 31st scheduled to get their payment on Oct. 26.Regular Social Security benefit checks range from $377.35 to $1,672, depending on the status of the recipient.
The regular Social Security payment is based on earnings throughout a person's lifetime and has no limits based on income or resources. These checks differ from other payments from the administration, such as disability insurance or supplemental security income, the latter check set to be next paid out on Nov. 1.Analysts estimate Social Security insolvency may occur as early as 2034 unless action is taken by Congress.
