The cost of living adjustment that Social Security recipients will receive for 2025 will be announced in October.
Reports of a $600 cost-of-living adjustment to be introduced this month for Social Security recipients may sound too good to be true — and they’re just that. The Social Security Administration set the record straight last week when it warned about the scam. “Scammers are circulating misinformation around a $600 fake Social Security benefit increase that they are alleging will be issued in June 2024,” the Social Security Administration Office of the Inspector General said in a news release.
San Antonio teen threatened to kill self and 'take at least 12 people with me to hell,' FBI says Social Security recipients will never be asked to provide personal information to receive a cost-of-living adjustment. The cost-of-living adjustment for 2025, if there will be one, will be announced in October.
