Social Security disability recipients' fears have been realized by the Cost of Living Adjustment for 2025.The Social Security Administration announced on October 10 that benefits payable for 2025 would be boosted by 2.5 percent—considerably less than the preceding two years. The COLA has been a long-standing element of Social Security benefits.
Forty-nine percent said the SSA should provide 'extra financial support for essential costs, like healthcare and housing,' while 45 percent supported a minimum guaranteed benefits level to ensure financial stability.Darcy Milburn, director of Social Security and health care policy at The Arc of the United States, told Newsweek that 'there is no question that SSI benefits need to be higher.
