'I guess he got one big call right...': Social media reacts as Boris Johnson agrees to resign as Prime Minister

Social media has reacted to the news that Boris Johnson has agreed to resign as Prime Minister of the UK.

According to No 10 sources, Mr Johnson has spoken to the Tory 1922 Committee chairman Sir Graham Brady and agreed to stand down, with a new Tory leader set to be in place by the party conference in October, a No 10 source said. Another wrote: "Be careful of what we wish for. Better the devil you know … looking at the contenders there isn’t a decent one amongst them. One reader added: "About time but the worry is who next!!"

On Twitter, Sathnam Sanghera wrote: "I guess Boris Johnson got one big call right, eventually." Another disagreed, tweeting: "Can't believe he's let down 14 million people like that. So selfish."
