“Simply put, Rowser is wrong on the facts,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Justin Roller wrote in a court filing. “Contrary to his assertions, Rowser’s social media content is replete with significant evidence that is both proximate and relevant to the charged offenses.” Prosecutors say the weapon was equipped with an illegal device that converted it into a machine gun. The court filing includes a screen shot taken from a video prosecutors say Rowser sent to others showing him firing the gun. That video was from Dec. 12, 2022 – about two weeks after the nightclub shooting.
Prosecutors allege that Rowser discussed the plan in Facebook messages – including his efforts to get black spray paint – days before the Mississippi shooting. The day after’s Craig’s death, Rowser sent a message asking co-defendant Jimaurice Pierce to get his gun, according to the court filing.
