Moody’s was scheduled to announce a rating decision on Friday but decided not to do so, saying it would update its view again on November 1

Credit-ratings agency Moody’s issued a detailed report on the SA government’s credit profile on Tuesday, effectively making the case for why it chose not make a ratings decision on Friday.

But, at the same, Moody’s has a bleak forecast for growth, expects the government’s fiscal position to erode further and warns that the country remains affected by “deep-rooted social and political divisions”, which hamper reforms and create policy uncertainty.
