Cahill ‘very proud’ as legend’s son signs first A-League deal
The son of Socceroos legend Tim Cahill has signed with A-League club Brisbane Roar.
Shae Cahill, 18, has joined the Roar on a multi-season deal after spending the past four years with the English Premier League club Everton’s academy. “Securing such a promising young midfielder is a testament to our club’s new vision of integrating youthful talent into our squad and first team environment,” Roar chief executive officer Kaz Patafta.Last season, Cahill made nine appearances for the Everton under-18 team.
His father Tim – an Everton great who scored 50 goals in 108 appearances for the Socceroos – expressed his delight following the announcement of the signing.“Wishing you all the best. Keep chasing your dream”
