More than 60 people, made up of those with cancer, cancer survivors and caregivers and family members, gathered at the Church of St Ignatius , to hear a biblical motivational talk by Martin Jalleh on March 11.
Martin gave many real and practical examples of God as a Mother Eagle, being an unfailing source of great comfort, consolation, and courage to those who had, or still have, a cancer-related experience and/or struggle. Martin ended with a thought-provoking quote by Pope Francis: “The worldwide coronavirus pandemic is not God’s judgment on humanity, but God’s call on people to judge what is most important to them and resolve to act accordingly from now on.
Martin emphatically reminded those present that the “Cancer you have or had is NOT a judgment from God, but in your suffering, it is a time for you to make a judgment – to choose what matters to you….”
