A mobile dog groomer told NBC 7 she might have to stop serving North County customers. A flower shop owner said he was already charging up to $20 in delivery fees and hopes he won't have to push it higher.
Kim Panacek has been known as Carlsbad’s “flower guy” for 27 years. He hopes his shop on Carlsbad Boulevard will be around for another 100, but he’s also worried about the price of gas.
His business, Hey Flower Guy, charges $10 to $15 per delivery, so for now, Panacek says he’ll absorb the extra cost. “Hopefully, we won’t have to raise our prices because then it makes the arrangement more expensive and people have a certain budget to spend," he said. Both the flower guy and the mobile dog groomer say they’re trying to stay positive, but with each penny that gas prices go up they say it’s getting harder to do.
