There’s no denying it, when Regé Jean-Page licked that spoon in series one of Bridgerton it was one of the sexiest things to happen on television in the cursed year that was 2020. So, after the show’s extremely horny beginnings it’s unsurprising that fans have been left somewhat underwhelmed by the sex scene offerings in season two., based on author Julia Quinn's second novel , the plot follows Daphne's older brother Anthony Bridgerton and his quest for love.
From then on, things do get slightly more rampant. Around the 46-minute mark, Kate Sharma has some pretty hot fantasies about Anthony between her thighs. Four minutes later, they’re actually getting it on in the gardens of Aubrey Hall - finally! An episode later, we’re back to feverish longing between the lovers before getting a short sex scene 65 minutes in and, you guessed it, it’s another al fresco romp that brings the show to its conclusion. Yup, that really is it.Many fans have pointed out that it’s strange Bridgerton series two features so few sex scenes when it was based on The Viscount Who Loved Me, which is more than steamy enough.
‘We never do a sex scene for the sake of doing the sex scene, and we never will,’ he added. ‘All the intimate scenes, they have a larger purpose. They’re all telling a story and they’re all pushing the story forward… There were zero surprises, and then we could just focus on bringing the love story to life. I felt very, very comfortable.’
