In the aftermath of the accident, Ministers Chris Bowen and Katy Gallagher released a statement offering condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of the driver. They added that Snowy Hydro had advised the government of the accident shortly after it occurred, and of the planned closure of the site out of respect.
