The National Weather Service is warning drivers to be extra careful because snow squalls can quickly reduce visibility and cause slick roads.
At about 11:30 a.m. Monday, the weather service issued a special weather statement alerting drivers about the potential for heavy snow showers and possible snow squalls.

They also tend to generate strong winds that blow the snow sideways., sometimes dissipating after 10 or 15 minutes, some can last as long as an hour or even longer.
this week, thanks to an Arctic blast that pushed temperatures down into the teens and low 20s this morning and wind chills into the single digits in several northern and western counties. Temperatures are running about 15 to 20 degrees colder than normal for late March, and forecasters say there’s a good chance some daily record lows will be set Tuesday morning in some cities, including Newark and Atlantic City.
