Snow closes R58 in Eastern Cape for more than 24 hours, grader machines called in
After being closed for more than 24 hours due to heavy snowfall, Eastern Cape traffic officials requested the services of grader machines to clear Barkly Pass on the R58 between Barkly East and Elliot.
"The graders have been brought in to clear the thick blanket of snow that forced the closure of this road for well over 24 hours," said Binqose. "Strong winds continue to wreak havoc in the province, damaging houses and disrupting the flow of traffic, as vehicles have been toppled over on the N2 road, near Dutywa.
