SNL mocked the Oscar night drama with a sketch of Chris Redd portraying a manic Will Smith in a recreation of when he slapped Chris Rock. The show's Weekend update was bookended with jokes about the slap as Michael Che and Colin Jost cracked a volley of quips.
They also then brought on Kenan Thompson's OJ to weigh in on the issue. It came as the night's host, comedian Jerrod Carmichael, noted that the nation was, like him, tired about the whole slapping scandal. Saturday's show also marked a surprise return of Pete Davidson, who had been absent for weeks amid an ongoing feud with Kanye West
