Spiegel said that My AI will first roll out to subscribers of the Snapchat+ service, which costs $3.99 a month, but that he hopes it will ultimately become available to all Snapchat users.
The company has been aiming to grow the subscriber base of Snapchat+ in a bid to further diversify its revenue base beyond advertising. At its investor day presentation, Snap said it has more than 2.5 million subscribers to the service.
