However, case numbers remained below the 1,000 mark for the third week running. New case numbers haven’t been this low since the early days of the pandemic in March 2020. By later that year, there were more than 50,000 cases a week. At least 1,354,156 Ohioans have received the updated one-dose COVID-19 vaccine, an increase of 2,290 people from the prior week, the state reported. This represents 11.5% of the state’s population.There were 34 Ohioans newly hospitalized in the last week, raising the total since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020 to 151,526. Four people were admitted into the ICU, bringing the total since 2020 to 15,812.
