A small plane owned by Auburn University crashed Sunday afternoon in Opelika.

It crashed during a training flight about 2,000 feet east of the runway shortly after takeoff from Auburn University Regional Airport. The one person aboard the aircraft was taken to the hospital as a precaution with non-life threatening injuries.At 1:36 p.m. on Sunday, March 24, an Auburn University aircraft crashed during a training flight, shortly after takeoff from Auburn University Regional Airport.
