Small pension pots worth less than £1,000 will be automatically merged under Government plans to make it easier for people to keep track of their savings for retirement
“I am really focused on making sure that younger people, the lower paid, [and] women have as good a pension as I can possibly get them by the time they retire. And that has been a real focus of this work,” she said.
“The state pension will always be the foundation for retirement, but this is something that people have on top so they can get the retirement that they want.”Department for Work and Pensions Whilst the initial size of the pension pot will be £1,000, this will be under review and the process is still up for consultation.
