The suspect could face up to 25 years in prison, according tooutside a cultural center in the town of Handlova, which is located around 85 miles to the northeast of the national capital Bratislava. Fico was airlifted to the nearby city of Banska Bystrica to receive treatment for his life-threatening injuries. The 59-year-old populist leader assumed power in October last year after his party won the election.
