With all the rain in Colorado recently, you may be noticing something unusual growing on your grass or in your garden
DENVER— Associate Curator of Mycology at Denver Botanic Gardens Andrew Wilson believes it’s slime mold.“They are kind of the alpha predators of the microbial world and essentially what they're doing is they're crawling along the ground and looking for bacteria and other fungi to eat and consume,” said Wilson.
Slime mold invades Colorado lawns after record rainfall Wilson says there's not much you can do about slime mold, other than wait, saying it should be gone in about a week. Cutting the grass could make them go away quicker, but Wilson says they could come up again during the next rainstorm.
