The 30-year-old officer was killed while returning home from work, police said.

Chicago police Officer Luis M. Huesca, 30, was fatally shot on April 21, 2024, while on his way home from work, authorities said.Sunday outside his home after returning from his shift had his gun taken from him as well as his car in the attack, ABC station WLS reported Monday.

No arrests have been announced and investigators were working Monday to identify a suspect or suspects in the killing. "The vehicle found in the alley here, we believe it is the officer's," Lopez said.
