Skyrora revealed the launch of its 2nd private rocket from U.K. soil

In a statement, the company headquartered in Edinburgh said it launched its two-meter-long Skylark Nano II rocket from Kildermorie Estate, Ross-shire in northern Scotland at just before 10 A.M. local time on Wednesday, July 10. The flight lasted a few minutes, with the vehicle reaching an altitude of about six kilometers and a speed of more than 1,811 kilometers per hour.

In a video released by the company, the rocket climbs high above the Scottish highlands with a camera onboard. The vehicle went supersonic just two seconds after liftoff and reached the upper troposphere in less than a minute. that it intends to use to reach orbit in 2022. While their Nano rocket can only reach low altitudes, the company hopes to reach about 40 kilometers with its Skylark Micro rocket soon. After that, it plans to reach space with its Sky High rocket, before ultimately traveling to orbit with its Skyrora XL rocket.
