Skylight Park opens in Tower City CenterCLEVELAND, Ohio -- If you haven’t been to Tower City in downtown Cleveland lately, you might want to stop in and check out the new Skylight Park.

The park sits atop the old dancing-waters fountain and includes benches, picnic tables, as well as live and artificial plants. “I know it sounds cheesy, but the natural light and the plants makes you really feel like you’re outdoors,” said Meg Lynch, and employee of nearby Sherwin-Williams, who was there on a break with co-worker Stephanie Jasper.

“And I love the inspirational quotes they have everywhere,” said Jasper referring to the “Mindfulness Moments” with quotes from people such as naturalist John Burroughs and marine biologist Rachel Carson among others. The park officially opened on Saturday, July 16. Real-estate developer Bedrock partnered with the Cuyahoga Valley National Park theOfficials with the developer and national park collaborated to highlight natural beauty and greenery. A representative for Bedrock said in a release that the park is “inspired by classic midwestern foliage, hand-selected and native to Ohio.” It will include Eastern Purple Coneflower and Black-eyed Susan.
