The teenager took the women’s title at the Skateboarding Park World Championships
Competing at Sharjah’s Aljada Skate Park in the United Arab Emirates, her highest score across three runs was 90.83, more than four points ahead of Japan’s Hiraki Kokona who took second place.
“I’m so stoked. The level has increased so much since the last contest,” Brown told Olympics.com after winning, “I’m so glad to be back on the podium with Sakura and Kokona .Sky Brown in action during the women’s final in Sharjah Kokona came second with a best score of 86.66 while Yosozumi Sakura, also from Japan, took third with a top score of 85.15.of all time when she won park bronze at the Tokyo 2020 Games at the age of 13.
Skateboarding was one of four new sports added to the Olympics in 2020, with skateboarding events held in both “park” and “street” categories of the sport.Born in Miyazaki, Japan, to a Japanese mother and a British father, Brown competed at the US Open in 2016 at the age of eight and was first selected to compete for Great Britain in 2018.over Japan, claiming the British Skateboarding Association had a “more relaxed approach”.
