Skoda’s new design language will make its debut on a new ID 3-sized crossover later this year
Skoda’s new sub-£40k Elroq EV has been spotted testing, offering an early glimpse of the car ahead of its official launch this autumn. The Skoda Elroq will be the mid-tier option between the existing Skoda Enyaq and the upcoming, budget-friendly Epiq city SUV, taking on rivals such as the Volvo EX30, Hyundai Kona Electric and MG 4. It is expected to be priced between £30,000 and £35,000. The new EV will be a mid-sized crossover based on Volkswagen’s MEB platform.
However, because it will be a slightly smaller car, its range could be boosted to beat the Enyaq’s 350-mile official maximum. The Enyaq also has rapid-charging functionality and needs just 35 minutes to get from 10-80% capacity, which is expected to carry across to the Elroq. Inside, the Elroq is expected to follow in the footsteps of the Enyaq, with a 13in touchscreen combined with an array of physical buttons.
