“I’m here because of you,” Sharpe told Bayless during the last show. “You’ve allowed me to share the stage with you. You’ve allowed me to share the platform. … The opportunity that you gave me to become what I became, I’m forever indebted to you. I’ll never forget what you did for me.” Then, before Bayless could thank Sharpe, the Hall of Fame tight end interrupted and said, “All I ask is when you lay your head on that pillow at night, know I gave you everything I had. Bayless thanked Sharpe for “preparing as hard as you could” for each day and topic, adding that the “greatest compliment I can give you is you were a worthy adversary.”in a “Monday Night Football” game against the Bengals.at the time. “This late in the season, a game of this magnitude is crucial to the regular-season outcome … which suddenly seems so irrelevant.”
Sharpe wasn’t present for the show the next day, and when he returned on Jan. 4, Sharpe said he hoped the tweet would be deleted.
