) - Two men have been arrested after being found with copy credit cards and gas station skimmers in Santa Rosa County.
Body camera video shows the moment Santa Rosa County sheriff’s deputies found nine copied credit cards along with three other skimming devices after a traffic stop. The driver Roslandy Garcia Cruz along with his passenger Yonasan González Perez were arrested, both having out of state warrants for possession of skimming devices.
Once these skimmers have your card information scammers can use that information to make copied credit cards like the nine that were found during the traffic stop. Some ways that you can prevent being scammed are paying inside rather then at the pump. Inspect card readers for signs of tampering. Use credit cards rather than debit cards for added protection. Regularly monitor your bank accounts for suspicious activity. Purchase gift cards directly from trusted retailers and inspect them for tampering before buying.
