Six members of the Skating Club of Boston, including two coaches, two athletes, and two parents, perished in a plane crash in Kansas. The group had traveled to Wichita for the U.S. Figure Skating National Development Camp. Among the victims were renowned coaches Vadim Naumov and Evgenia Shishkova, who were world champions in pairs skating. Also killed were 13-year-old skater Jinna Han and her mother. The skating community is devastated by the loss and vows to rebuild and honor their memory.

Among those in the crash, husband and wife figure-skating coaches Vadim Naumov and Evgenia Shishkova of Norwood. The couple are just two of six from the Skating Club of Boston who didn't make it home after the coveted event. "Their son is on his way to D.C." Zeghibe continued. "He's scheduled to compete at the international Four Continents championship, but now I don't know if he's going to be doing that. He's also scheduled to be an alternate at the World Championships, so he has some tough decisions ahead of him and my heart goes out to him because it's both his parents."
Accompanied on the trip by her mother, Jin, who staff at the Skating Club of Boston said spent just as many hours near the ice as her daughter.
