Smith, a longtime basketball coach at Eufaula who has earned 802 career wins with three state titles in leading Eufaula girls , said he couldn’t have had success without others, especially his wife, Bridgette, a McDonald High School All-American basketball standout from Starkville, Miss.
Harris, a football standout at Wicksburg and later at Arkansas who has been a high school coach in the area for the past 21 years, said he was “speechless” when he received the phone call informing him of his selection. In being selected into the Wiregrass Sports Hall of Fame, he joins his dad, Sherrill, a 2010 inductee, for a rare father-child combo in the hall.
