The Texas Rangers are playing the Houston Astros in game 7 of the American League Championship Series and Adolis Garcia won ALCS MVP.
Adolis Garcia is in his fourth year with the Texas Rangers and the two-time all-star has blossomed into one of the MLB’s best sluggers over the past three seasons.Garica was selected as the ALCS MVP for his performance against the Astros. Garcia batted .357 with five home runs and 15 RBIs in the ALCS.
1. Garcia’s nickname, El Bombi, was given to him as a youth. He received the nickname from a childhood friend. The name has nothing to do with Garcia’s proficiency to hit bombs, but because his friend thought his head looked like a light bulb. 4. Originally signed by St. Louis in 2017, the Cardinals designated him for assignment in 2019. The Rangers picked him up. However, it took him a while to make an impact in the Rangers’ organization. In fact, the Rangers designated him for assignment in 2021 before re-signing him to a minor league contract and inviting him to spring training.
