SIX out of the 10 remaining patients with Covid-19 at Mittaphab Hospital have tested negative for the virus for the first time and were to be discharged if they test negative for a second time.
The six patients were scheduled to be tested on Friday and will be allowed to return home if a second test the next day is also negative, it was reported at the daily media briefing on Friday.
From January to May 7, a total of 2,733 people were tested for the virus, with 19 people testing positive. Nine of the 19 people infected with the virus have since recovered.There have been no new confirmed cases of the virus for the past 26 consecutive days. Of these, 1,233 people crossed into Laos from Thailand, of whom 95 were Lao nationals returning to their homes in Champassak province. They were sent to a local quarantine centre for 14 days. The rest were truck drivers bringing goods into Laos.
