We are living during a time of incredible technological change. New technologies are emerging and evolving at a dizzying pace, unlocking opportunities that would have been unimaginable only a few years ago. At the same time, paradoxically, the old adage, “The more things change, the more they stay the same” still rings true.
In the past, when computing was less abstract but more difficult, we had to have a deeper understanding of physical hardware, command lines, folder systems and other foundational elements of technology. There’s now a whole new generation of digital natives building innovative products without necessarily understanding the building blocks that make the technology work. It’s important for technologists of all ages to learn or relearn the foundational parts of their product or service.
