Luis Sinisterra and Wilfried Gnonto were immediately drafted into the starting line-up after their returns to training this week. Jamie Shackleton, Joe Gelhardt and Daniel James, who was missing from the squad with injury, dropped out. The first half was arguably the best of the season so far. Five goals came and Leeds went in at the break with a 3-2 lead. Georginio Rutter and Piroe each scored their first United goals either side of a Gnonto strike on his return to action. However, defensive frailties were being exposed by the hosts.
