Singapore’s President Halimah begins official visit tomorrow FMTNews

PUTRAJAYA: Singapore’s President Halimah Yacob will undertake a three-day state visit to Malaysia from tomorrow, in the first state visit to the country by a president of the republic since 2013.The foreign ministry, in a statement today, said the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah, would receive Halimah in a welcoming ceremony at Istana Negara on March 21.

Halimah is also scheduled to receive a courtesy call from Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim at which the two leaders are expected to exchange views on bilateral, regional and international issues of mutual interest. Singapore is Malaysia’s second-largest global trading partner and the largest among Asean countries, with total trade amounting to RM367.53 billion – an increase of 29.4% compared to the recorded value in 2021.
