After 52 years, Jurong Bird Park, an aviary and tourist attraction in Singapore, has closed its doors. It will soon reopen as Bird Paradise, which will be part of a new wildlife attraction.
, a total of 2,600 guests visited the park on January 3, its last day, with more than 30,000 visitors in its last five days over the New Year holiday.The 20.2-hectare park was home to 3,500 birds across 400 species, including parrots, vultures, owls, flamingoes, roosters, pelicans, hornbills, and many more.
But animal lovers don't have to worry because the birds will soon fly to their new home at the Mandai Wildlife Reserve, which is envisioned to be an ethical wildlife and nature destination with a mission to protect animal species. Upon its relocation at the reserve, Jurong Bird Park will be renamed as the Bird Paradise and will feature all-new walk-in aviaries.Aside from Jurong Bird Park, the area will also include the Singapore Zoo, River Wonders, Night Safari, and Rainforest Wild.
Bird Paradise, formerly known as the Jurong Bird Park, is set to open in the 2nd quarter of this year at the Mandai Wildlife Reserve.
