The wholesaler provides fresh fruits and vegetables to restaurants, caterers, country clubs and more in Greater Columbus. It has a public market, too.

Sanfillipo Produce's presence in the city dates back to 1899 with Jim's great-grandfather, Salvatore Sanfillipo, Jim said.

His son, Joe, took over the business at the age of 17 after Salvatore died in 1911. He stayed in that role for 36 years, until his sons Joe Jr. and Jim Sr. took over after serving in World War II. "There's almost nothing out of season ever," Jamie said."They'll be small gaps where you can't get certain items, but for the most part, even if you got to fly them in from Israel or have it come in from Guatemala or Chile, you can get it."

"That's something we really try to push," he said."We always say, 'Buy local, from local.' We were born in Columbus, we live in Columbus, our building is in Columbus. We try to use as much Ohio product as we can."
