Hogwarts Legacy students will have Simon Pegg — sorry, Phineas Nigellus Black — as their 'infamous' headmaster.
Simon Pegg has just been confirmed as playing a character in Hogwarts Legacy — that of Phineas Nigellus Black, the"least popular headmaster Hogwarts ever had."
A whole host of popular British actors were involved in the Harry Potter movies, leaving some of those who weren't to joke about feeling a little neglected. Now, the team has confirmed that it's scooped another well-known actor for the game, with Simon Pegg playing the school's headmaster Phineas Nigellus Black.Phineas Nigellus Black could be one of the only characters who's both present in the time of Harry Potter, and in the 1800s when Hogwarts Legacy is set: he was the headmaster at the time of Hogwarts Legacy, and his portrait sits in Dumbledore's office in the future.
"He is a sort of pompous, disinterested... he's not a good teacher or headmaster in any way," Pegg says."I think he would've taken on the role of headmaster because of the gig. You know, it's a prestigious position. I don't think he has any interest in children's education or being in any way a role model. It's not really his concern. What he wants is the kudos of being the headmaster of the greatest wizarding school in the world.
We hear a few of Pegg's lines in the trailer above; some of the lines we hear sound like they could just be NPC comments if our character encounters the headmaster around the school, but we don't yet know to what extent Phineas will feature in the game's quests.More Hogwarts Legacy stories:
