Rashford carried on his excellent form at the Nou Camp on Thursdayhas undergone an incredible upturn in form coinciding with the appointment of Erik ten Hag as United boss.
His influential displays have helped United stay in touch with leaders Manchester City and Arsenal in the Premier League title race – and the club could potentially win the quadruple. While talkSPORT pundits Simon Jordan and Stuart Pearce are impressed by Rashford’s exploits, neither feel he is in the category of world-class.“What I’ve always pushed back against is the characterisation that he’s a world-class player,” said Jordan when asked if Rashford was in football’s top tier of performers.“A world-class player is a player who can get into any side and I’m not sure that’s the case with Marcus Rashford.
Jordan continued: “There are very few world-class players; you can name them on a couple of hands and at this moment in time while Marcus Rashford’s form is extraordinarily good, I think it’s a bit silly to start calling him world class.Former England skipper Stuart Pearce was also quizzed on the England international and believes the term can be attributed to his current form.
“Would you put your money on him scoring 25 goals again next year and the year after and be confident in that? I’m not sure you would be.”
