Housing minister Clare O'Neil has taken aim at the Greens during Question Time after the minor party attacked Labor's housing policy.Housing minister Clare O'Neil has been forced to defend Labor's housing policy yet again, after fresh attacks from the Greens and Coalition during a heated exchange in parliament.
"Yesterday the Minister apologised for referencing treasury modelling on build to rent that did not exist. Then seemed to claim the 160,000 figure came from Property Council modelling of Labor’s scheme, which is also not true. In fact the property council says Labor’s plan won’t build any extra housing," he said.
Ms O'Neil was immediately agitated by the question, hitting back at how Labor was"thinking about homes for Australians" rather than"silly debates" in parliament. Labor has frequently come to blows with the Greens over housing, with Ms O'Neil accusing it and the Liberal Party of playing politics in order to prevent its housing agenda moving forward.
Just minutes after firing back at Mr Chandler-Mather, Mr Sukkar, the shadow housing minister, had a question of his own for Ms O'Neil.
