James picked USC over scholarship offers from Ohio State and Memphis. Oregon was also reportedly among one of James’ top schools.
James was selected as a McDonald’s All-American this year after averaging 14.1 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 27 games. The combo guard is rated a 4-star recruit on ESPN and a 5-star prospect in the 247Sports.com composite rankings. James – the eldest son of LeBron James – has had a wild four-year high school career at Sierra Canyon. Since his freshman season, the program’s reputation combined with the star-studded last name created a circus of flashing lights, Youtube videos that garnered millions of views, filled NBA arenas, and even a documentary on Amazon Prime called ‘Top Class’.Sunday’s news puts a bow on James’ high school career.
As a freshman he played with three players that would end up McDonald’s All-Americans in Ziaire Williams, Brandon Boston and Amari Bailey, but played in all 34 games, which included his first varsity start on Dec. 3, 2019.
