Of the 62,915 fans at a sold-out State Farm Stadium, it is no exaggeration to say that half were Cowboys fans.

Even the local photographers and sideline personnel who are used to seeing lots of visiting jerseys in the crowd from the various visiting teams said this weekend’s “takeover” was more than previous visits. Cardinals season ticket holders were getting a pretty penny in re-selling tickets to Cowboys fans.Jerry Jones spent about 45 minutes signing autographs during pregame warmups as he walked the perimeter of the playing field signing Cowboys memorabilia for fans along the first row.

The Cowboys could have used the crowd to its advantage as it did during the Week 1 road trip at the Giants, but the Cowboys played so poorly it was all for naught. Since the Cardinals relocated to Glendale in 2006, the Cowboys have lost five of their seven trips to the desert, including two overtime games. After getting 16 offensive snaps and six touches in the Week 2 win over the Jets, rookie running back Deuce Vaughn was not used on offense in Week 3. He had just one snap on special teams.

Kristi Scales is the sideline reporter for the Dallas Cowboys Radio Network. She writes this Sideline Exclusive report for The Dallas Morning News each day after a Cowboys game.
