SIBU: The Sessions Court here handed down a total of RM45,000 in fines to two men in separate cases of illegally possessing a large volume of diesel.
The Section provides for a fine not exceeding RM1mil, imprisonment not exceeding 3 years or both if convicted.
In the first case, the accused, Ting Heng Yong, 34, was fined RM20,000 in default 3 months' jail for possessing 22,279 litres of diesel. The offence was committed at 11.30am on June 16, 2022 at an unnumbered lot in Jalan Tun Ahmad Zaidi Adruce. In the second case at the same court, Chong Kung Chuong, 37, was slapped with a fine of RM25,000 for illegally possessing 24,286 litres of diesel.
He was caught at 12pm on March 16 last year during a raid conducted by the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry at a a warehouse in Jalan Trysan.Article type: free
