Department of Tourism-Caraga Director Ivonnie Dumadag cited the event as the first national dragon boat competition to be held in Mindanao and this town, a commercial and trading center on the island.
“With 28 confirmed teams of which five are from overseas, the activity is estimated to gather close to 1,000 participants and this will further boost our campaign to attract more international and domestic tourists in the region that will directly contribute in reaching our 2023 target.”Surigao del Norte Rep.
DOT-13 Senior Tourism Operations Officer Kylee Doreene O. Plaza said all its all systems go for the event. “All systems go, tourism is bouncing back in our region,” she said.
