SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Pascal Siakam poured in 10 of his 22 points in the fourth quarter, leading the Indiana Pacers to a thrilling 112-111 victory over the Utah Jazz on Monday night. This win marks the Pacers ' fourth consecutive triumph. Tyrese Haliburton contributed 18 points for Indiana, who played without Myles Turner after the center was ruled out due to an ankle injury just hours before the game. Obi Toppin and Aaron Nesmith each added 13 points to the Pacers ' offensive arsenal.
John Collins and Jordan Clarkson spearheaded the Jazz's efforts with 21 points apiece, but Utah's struggles continued as they fell to their ninth loss in 10 games. Adding to the Jazz's woes, guard Collin Sexton suffered a left ankle sprain in the opening minutes and was unable to return. Despite a valiant effort from Isaiah Collier and Keyonte George, who combined for 27 points and 21 assists, their inexperience proved costly in the closing stretch. The Jazz held a commanding 101-89 lead after a 3-pointer by Collier with 6:52 remaining, but the Pacers mounted a fierce comeback, outscoring Utah 23-10 in the final minutes. The Pacers' offensive momentum shifted as their long-range shooting faltered, connecting on only 23.8% of their 3-point attempts. They opted to focus on driving to the basket and capitalizing on transition opportunities. The Jazz, on the other hand, fell victim to late-game errors that have become a recurring theme. Following a John Collins basket that gave Utah a 106-105 lead, the Jazz committed two turnovers and missed two crucial shots. Lauri Markkanen missed two free throws with 17 seconds left, sealing their fate. With Utah trailing by two and desperate for a score, Andrew Nembhard found Siakam for a wide-open dunk with 5.1 seconds remaining, giving the Pacers a 112-108 lead. Despite being outrebounded 60-37 by the Jazz, the Pacers capitalized on Utah's 19 turnovers, scoring 26 fast-break points compared to the Jazz's 11. The Pacers will continue their road trip in Portland on Tuesday night, while the Jazz will conclude their four-game homestand against Golden State on Wednesday
