, his podcast detailing antics and hunting adventures in the heart of Duck Command. But his absence came with a valid excuse: he was recently hospitalized after falling off a boat during a hunting trip in Arkansas. "Typical Silas Robertson , in a dang hurry to get out of the boat," Martin said, recapping the incident. "He went to take a long step instead of waiting for us to move the decoys and the shotguns… A BDH, a Big Dang Hurry, and he fell.
He continued, "When he fell, he fell on his oxygen machine — you know how he wears it like a bandolier."Martin said that in the moment, Robertson appeared to bounce back quickly, jumping back up and claiming that he was fine. "I think he didn't want anybody to see that he fell," he said. "Except the problem is you're covered in mud now, so we know that he fell.
He reiterated that the hunting group asked Robertson several times if he was injured and even offered him Advil later in the day, but he continued insisting that he was fine. However, as the day progressed, it became clear that the situation was more serious than he had let on. For one thing, Martin noticed that Robertson was much quieter than usual, and he wondered if he had a concussion.
Aside from the pain, his symptoms included low oxygen levels, which prompted the family to seek medical attention. One visit to the ER later, and X-rays showed that Robertson had sustained bruised ribs from his fall. His low oxygen levels were attributed to panic attacks, a reaction to the pain he was experiencing. As there were no further severe injuries, he was given medication and has since been discharged to recover at home.
