She is a brown tabby with adorable white boots at the Helotes Humane Society.

Our"Forgotten Friends" series showcases a dog or cat each week that has spent a lengthy time at an area shelter, just waiting for someone to notice them and bring them home to love.as a stray back in May of 2021.

She has been living in a foster home while waiting for someone to choose her, but that foster parent now has to move out of state at the beginning of May, so a new foster or parent is desperately needed. Shelter staff believe that Pearl may have suffered some abuse in her past, because she is initially shy around people. She would definitely prefer a quiet, cat-loving home with no small children around. She also needs to be your only pet because she has difficulty adjusting to other animals. "Pearl is an incredibly sweet girl who appears to have suffered abuse in the past but has proven that with a bit of love and patience she will come out of her shell and become just as attached to you as you are to her," said HHS."She panics if there are multiple people in her direct vicinity, so she probably would not do well in a large family or one with small children." She loves to play with cat toys and run around the house. She will talk to you when she wants food or attention, and can be a little adventurous if you give her the chance. Pearl doesn't really like to be held, but once she comes to you, she loves to be petted and lie in your lap. Pearl is healthy, spayed and current on her vaccinations.HHS is open on Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., Thursday and Friday 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until 4 p.m..
