The Igorot Stone Kingdom, shuttered last year due to lack of permits, temporarily reopened in time for the Holy Week here on Monday, April 3. | ManilaBulletin

A provisional business permit was issued to the Igorot Stone Kingdom after it vowed to comply with the city's government's conditions for resumption of operations.

"Right now, the city government has issued a provisional permit to the Igorot Stone Kingdom due to the lack of a building permit for the constructed structures while they are fixing the entire area to be titled," Engr. Bonifacio dela Peña, city administrator, said. Dela Pena said they have ordered the Igorot Stone Kingdom to conduct a slope stability and structural integrity analysis.

"The good thing about this is that they have been given an Environmental Compliance Certificate , which means that there is no objection to their project in their area. There has also been a meeting with the agencies concerned, up to the barangay and residents and they have followed all the requirements they were supposed to present," Dela Pena added.

He said the provisional business permit is only valid for three months. "It is renewable every three months, while they are issued with a building permit, so if there is a violation in the next few days, their permit can easily be canceled."
