A Shropshire brewer has released a new seasonal ale with a name for these financially straightened times.
Joule's Brewery, based in Market Drayton, has issued Penny Pincher to its estate of pubs for January.
Coming in at a meaty 4.2 per cent alcohol by volume it is described as a deep brown ale made with large amounts of crystal malts giving caramel and toffee flavours. The company which includes pubs across Shropshire and Staffordshire, has also launched a loyalty card in a bid to lure customers in after Christmas and during Dry January.
